Earthquake rattles the area

Did you feel the shaking? The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 4.2 earthquake rattled parts of Kansas and Oklahoma on Friday morning. No damage or injuries were immediately reported. The quake happened near Manchester, Oklahoma, just south of Harper County, Kansas.

The Ark City police chief is stepping down. Dan Ward’s last day on the job is March 3rd. Captain Eric Burr will serve as interim chief. Ward came to Ark City from the Lawrence Police Department in 2014. He had been with the Lawrence Police department for 28 years.
