The Ark City police chief is stepping down. Dan Ward’s last day on the job is March 3rd. Captain Eric Burr will serve as interim chief. Ward came to Ark City from the Lawrence Police Department in 2014. He had been with the Lawrence Police department for 28 years.

The Board of Commissioners of Cowley County has closed all county administrative offices today and Wednesday.
