A road closure to be aware of in Winfield today. E. 12th Ave will be closed between Loomis and Fuller while repairs are made to repair a water line beginning this morning at around 8 a.m.

As of today, Kansans over the age of 16 will be eligible to receive a COVID 19 vaccine. The state moves to Phase 5 of its vaccine distribution plan today.

Winfield police say seven people were arrested on suspicion of various drug charges on Thursday after a search warrant executed at a Winfield home turned up evidence of drugs drug paraphernalia. Police executed the search warrant on Thursday of last week, at a home in the 1100 block of East 6th Avenue.

The Cowley County Sheriff’s office is investigating a fatal accident that happened on Friday. The sheriff’s office says deputies were dispatched to a one-car accident on K-15 Highway near 232nd Road south of Dexter.
