Winfield Public Library has free take-home science kits

Southwestern College says Students from our TriBeta organization (advised by Dr. Kim Dolphin) created free take-home science kits for budding scientists to pick up at the Winfield Public Library. Two kits were designed and prepared: one kit called “Fossil Facts and the other “Dissolving Dynamics.” TriBeta students also recorded an instructional video for each kit, which are viewed online. Engaging young learners in hands-on science experiments develops important skills such as curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. As children follow instructions, make predictions, and see the results of their experiments, they begin to think like scientists-asking questions and learning through trial and observation!
