Ark City Fire/E.M.S hosting open house about new station

Arkansas City Fire/EMS invites you to an Open House on March 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the current station, 115 S. D St., to learn more about plans for a new Fire/EMS facility. The current building, originally constructed as a military armory, has served our community since the 1980s. It has supported generations of firefighters and thousands of emergency calls, but it no longer meets today’s space, safety, and operational standards. As our community grows and service demands evolve, it’s time to plan for the next 30 to 40 years. Two potential locations are being considered:
• East Poplar & J Street near the US 77 Bypass
• 700 Block of East Kansas Avenue near the middle school
At the open house, you can tour the current station, view proposed renderings, learn about funding considerations, and speak directly with department leadership.
