Businessowners can learn more about grant program

The City of Arkansas City will host a Business Signs Grant information meeting on February 11 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 118 W. Central Ave., for local business owners interested in learning more about the Kansas Department of Commerce SIGNS Grant program.
The meeting will also be live-streamed on the City of Arkansas City’s YouTube channel.
The meeting will provide an overview of the program, eligibility requirements and the local application process, and will give business owners an opportunity to ask questions before the upcoming application deadline.
The SIGNS Grant is intended to help strengthen commercial districts by supporting new or improved storefront signage for eligible, consumer-facing businesses that serve walk-in customers, such as retail and restaurant establishments. Eligible expenses may include sign design, fabrication, lighting, electrical work and installation.
Applications for the current grant cycle are due February 28, 2026. The City of Arkansas City plans to apply on behalf of participating businesses located in qualifying commercial areas.
More information about the SIGNS Grant program is available on the Kansas Department of Commerce website at: www.kansascommerce.gov/qpd/signs/.
Local business owners who are considering a new or upgraded sign are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about how the program works and what is required to participate.
