At approximately 6:20 p.m. on January 15, 2026, Arkansas City Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the roundabout in the 1200 block of East Kansas Avenue. According to a preliminary investigation, a Ford Transit van driven by Kenneth Bowen, of Ponca City, entered the roundabout from the south and failed to yield to a vehicle already traveling inside the roundabout. Bowen’s vehicle struck a passenger vehicle driven by Johnathan Clements, of Arkansas City, causing the van to roll into the center median. Bowen was evaluated on scene by Arkansas City Fire/EMS personnel and later transported to South Central Kansas Medical Center with minor injuries. He was subsequently released. No other injuries were reported. Bowen was cited for Failure to Yield.
