Here’s what we were trying to say:
Our Environmental Services team is flushing fire hydrants across parts of south-central Arkansas City-starting August 4, 2025. About 160 hydrants will be flushed in this round.
Affected areas include:
• South of Madison Avenue, between A Street and 1st Street (Section 3)
• North of W. Fifth Ave to W. Kansas Ave, east of 1st Street (Section 4)
Hydrant flushing happens weekdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will continue through at least August 29.
What you might notice:
• Discolored water
• Low water pressure
We recommend not doing laundry if your water is discolored-it could stain your clothes. If it does, leave the items wet and call us. We’ll bring detergent to help fix it.
