Winfield looking at pedestrian and bicycle safety

With the arrival of spring and an expected uptick in outdoor activities, the City of Winfield continues efforts to evaluate and enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety throughout the community. As part of our commitment to safe and accessible transportation, the City has undertaken a review of infrastructure, policies and partnerships. As part of a broader initiative, the City recently installed new trial “Walk Your Bike” signs throughout downtown, encouraging cyclists to walk their bikes while on downtown sidewalks–it is the law. Additionally, last year new bike racks were placed at the ends of each downtown block, offering convenient and secure parking options for cyclists. The City recently completed an evaluation of several key factors related to the bicycle and pedestrian readiness of the community.
