Burden and Belle Plaine are among eight Kansas communities to receive funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a part of a $21.4 investment to provide cleaning drinking water and sanitary wastewater systems in rural towns.
The City of Burden will receive a $2,284,999 loan and a $921,000 grant, both to help complete rehabilitation work on its aging water and wastewater systems.
