On Dec. 20, 2023, Arkansas City Police Department officers were dispatched to Casey’s midtown location, 1425 N. Summit St., for a report of a physical disturbance and a possible gunshot. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered evidence that a shot had been fired. Victims and witnesses were contacted, and it was learned that no one was injured because of the gunfire. Based on information gathered on the scene, a suspect was quickly identified as Adrian Mundy, 37, Arkansas City. Members of the Arkansas City Police Department and Cowley County Sheriff’s Department went to a residence in the 900 block of N. C Street, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Officers also arrested a female subject, Danika Martin, 27, Arkansas City, for a Cowley County arrest warrant and a Winfield Municipal Court warrant. Through the investigation, officers were granted two search warrants, which were served for the collection of evidence. Officers located methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, along with firearms.
