Health department has two new RSV vaccines available

The City-Cowley County Health Department announces the addition of two new immunizations for RSV. RSV is a common virus that typically manifests with cold-like symptoms. However, the virus poses a serious threat to at-risk populations, as it can result in potentially fatal lower respiratory infections. These two new immunizations, Arexvy and Beyfortus, promise to grant much needed protection for these two vulnerable populations. Arexvy is available for anyone aged 60 years and older. Beyfortus is available for newborns and babies under 1 year of age born during or entering their first RSV season, as well as for children up to 24 months of age who remain at risk of severe RSV disease through their second RSV season.
