Teachers from Irving and Whittier spent all day Wednesday in professional development with Capturing Kids Hearts 2 training. Both schools are Showcase winners within the program. Jeff Thorpe led the training. Capturing Kids Hearts provides strategies and practices that build healthy bonds between student and staff members, which in turn can reduce negative behaviors and enhance academic successes. All USD 465 schools are involved in this program.
