The Ark City Fire-EMS Department has been busy this week. They responded to four separate fires in the last few days. A grass fire caused $9,000 in damages. The cause of that fire was an ember from a previously controlled fire the previous night. A house fire killed two dogs, and caused an estimated $20,000 in damages. One of the other fires was a passenger car, deemed to be a total loss, and the other was an abandoned house that was nearly burned to the ground, according to KAKE TV.
