Cowley County Public Health Director Tom Langer says the number of active COVID 19 cases in the area is up. Langer said as of Wednesday there were 192 active cases, which is 20 higher than the number on Tuesday, according to ctnewsonline.com. One new virus-related death has been reported since Monday. Almost 30 percent of county residents have been tested. Langer said newly-infected people indcate that the current illnesses are connected with social activities from the holiday week and events happening from Christmas to the New Year.
