Governor Laura Kelly announced today that she has signed and line-item vetoed aspects of House Substitute for Senate Bill 113, the bill containing the budget for K-12 education. With her line-item vetoes, the bill fully funds K-12 education for the fifth consecutive year and protects funding for rural schools facing declining enrollment.

Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor’s annual golf tournament “Golfin’ for Good Sam” raises more than $24,000 for the Good Samaritan Program. The program provides financial support for local Presbyterian Manor seniors who have, at no fault of their own, outlived their financial resources. 76 golfers participated in the four-person scramble tournament.
