During the July 5 City Commission meeting, Arkansas City Police Officer Shawntele Crownover was sworn into the department. Crownover began her employment with Arkansas City Police Department on June 5.

The Arkansas City Police Department has been investigating recent burglaries at the Paris Park Pool. On June 28, 2023, at 2:15 a.m., officers discovered two teenagers who burglarized the concession stand area of the pool.
