Cornhole Tournament raises money for Paramedic Scholarship

The inaugural Play for Paramedics Cornhole Tournament benefitting a new paramedic scholarship at Cowley College was held this summer at the Broadway Sports Complex. Sixteen teams played in the tournament, raising $1,011.50 for the new scholarship fund. The tournament was double-elimination style, with proceeds divided between the winner’s pot and the scholarship fund.

Cowley College aims for golf club

With a rich golf history in the area, Cowley College is working towards bringing a sanctioned golf program back to the school. The Kansas Crime Victims Compensation Board awarded financial assistance to 211 victims of violent crime at its August meeting, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.
