USD 465 is hosting a Community Conversation about the upcoming bond election. The election is set for June 6th. The Community Conversation is set for Wednesday, April 12th, at 7 p.m. at Lowell Elementary. They’ll discuss finances, safe and secure entrances, and deferred maintenance needs.

Governor names official state land fossil

Governor Laura Kelly today signed Senate Bill 3, a bipartisan bill that designates the Silvisaurus Condrayi as the official state land fossil. The Silvisaurus is the only known dinosaur from the Dakota Formation in Kansas. It was a medium-sized, four-legged, armored plant-eater, and its remains were discovered by a rancher in Ottawa County in 1955.
