Three Winfield police officers given Medal of Valor

The Winfield Police Department says three of our officers were awarded the Medal of Valor for their actions in responding to an officer involved shooting north of Winfield in April. The award is our second highest available. They are MPO Chad McGathy, Sgt. Dakota Richardson, and MPO Detective Galen Giddens.

Health department announces holiday closures

Both locations of the Cowley County Health Department will be closed this Friday, December 23rd and next Monday, December 26th. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, December 27th. Additionally, both locations will also be closed on Monday, January 2nd. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Gas prices keep falling

Ark City Police say on December 15, 2022, at 12:04 p.m., officers were called to the Arkansas City High School to a report of a sexual harassment. Governor announces bridge money

Governor Laura Kelly and Kansas Transportation Secretary Julie Lorenz today announced that $40.5 million will support 33 local and off-system bridge projects across the state.
