FORMER ARKANSAS RESIDENT NAMED TO STATE COMMMANDER

According to ctnnewsonline.com, a former Arkansas City resident has been elected the state commander for the Kansas American Legion. Randy Frank was chosen in June to serve a one-year term overseeing more than 200 Kansas posts.

Frank said that he and his wife are known as Gold Star parents.They lost their son Kevin Gilbertson in Aug. 2007 when he was killed by enemy forces during his second tour of duty in Ramadi, Iraq. The South Summit Street bridge was named after their son in 2019.
