Following a tip regarding the whereabouts of a wanted person, the Arkansas City Police Department arrested Aaron Robert Dorman, age 26, Arkansas City, in the 900 Block of N. Summit Street in the early hours of May 11, 2023. On Wednesday, officers received information that Dorman would arrive at a residence in Arkansas City and that he possibly possessed a stolen firearm. Officers had been attempting to locate Dorman due to three probation violation warrants issued through the District Court of Cowley County. ACPD officers located Dorman at a 900 block of N. Summit Street residence. At the time of his arrest, Dorman was found to be in possession of pills that were suspected to be Fentanyl, a firearm, and other drug paraphernalia. Officers were able to confirm from another jurisdiction that the firearm was stolen. Dorman charges of possession of an opiate with intent to distribute, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, defacing a firearm, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and three probation violations.
