The City of Winfield, Walnut Valley Festival, and Cowley County Fair Association are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the fundraising campaign for the construction of a permanent outdoor performance stage on the midway of the Winfield Fairgrounds. Community contributions have exceeded expectations, with $32,297.79 raised-surpassing the $31,250 goal originally set as 25% of the total $125,000 project cost. The stage will be located just south of Barn 4 on the Fairgrounds midway and is designed to accommodate smaller acts not suited for the grandstand. Key features include an enclosed ceiling to reduce issues with birds and insects, built-in tracks for lights and speakers, and a water-friendly structure to withstand occasional fairgrounds flooding.
