Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program continues

Last year, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) announced that the Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (KSFMNP) would increase the value of coupons it gives to seniors from $35 to $50. As a result, more than 6,000 seniors participated in the program, and Kansas farmers redeemed $211,264 worth of benefits. This year, the coupon redemption amount will stay at $50. Eligible seniors can apply for the KSFMNP from June 1 until Sept. 30. Coupons will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis, and seniors are encouraged to apply early.
