At Tuesday night’s Ark City City Commission meeting, Police Chief Jim Holloway recognized Master Police Officer Shannese McIntosh for her extraordinary life saving actions while responding to a critical incident. On February 24, 2026, at 9:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence after reports that a man had possibly stabbed himself. When MPO Shannese McIntosh arrived on scene, she found the victim lying in the driveway with a severe stab wound to his upper thigh and significant blood loss. Relying on her training and remaining calm under intense pressure, Officer McIntosh quickly applied a tourniquet to control the life threatening hemorrhage and kept the victim stable until EMS could safely respond and transport him for advanced medical care. Hospital staff later confirmed that her swift, decisive actions were critical in saving his life.
