Winter weather is returning and the City of Winfield would like to remind customers of the steps that they can take to take control of their utility bill by conserving energy. The biggest step customers can take to conserve is by lowering their thermostats a few degrees. Savings tips include: Lower your thermostat. Make sure exterior doors are fully closed. During colder months, run ceiling fans clockwise, so the warm air near the ceiling is forced down. Lower your water heater’s temperature or insulate it.
