The Ark City City Commission this week approved the 2025 Community Development Block Grant Contractor Guidelines to support upcoming housing rehabilitation projects for qualifying residents. The group allocated $10,000 from healthcare sales tax revenues to SCK Health for uncompensated (charity) care provided to the community. They also authorized rehabilitation work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project includes replacing deteriorated gate valves and safety handrails – some dating back to the plant’s original 1950s construction – to improve operational control and worker safety. The work was approved at a cost not to exceed $48,490.
