During the January 7, 2025, City Commission meeting, Chad Beeson officially began his term as Arkansas City’s newest mayor. Commissioner Tad Stover was also selected to serve as vice mayor for the upcoming year. The meeting included a heartfelt acknowledgment of outgoing Mayor Jay Warren, who served in the role throughout 2024. Warren, a City Commissioner since 2008, was recognized for his leadership, mentorship, and 17 years of dedicated service to the Arkansas City community.
