COWLEY COUNTY EMPLOYEES TO RECEIVE COST OF LIVING RAISE

Cowley County employees will receive a cost of living raise and potential merit raises in 2025, according to a pay plan approved Tuesday by the county commission.

The cost of living raise was set at 2%, with the potential of up to another 2% in merit raises for the year.
The county wage structure groups together jobs of similar levels and sets entry, mid-range, professional and maximum pay amounts for each grade. The professional category is new for the 2025 pay schedule.

Positions in the lowest pay grade, A, have an hourly wage of $13.47 to $18.16, and an annual salary of $28,018 to $37,773. The highest-level position, county administrator, is designated at AA level with hourly pay of $65.86 to $91.26, and an annual salary of $136,989 to $189,821.

Employees who reach the maximum pay level for their position will not receive an annual pay increase unless either the scale receives a cost of living adjustment, or the employee is promoted to a higher-level position, according to a copy of the pay plan.
