The Arkansas City Police Department is organizing the 40th annual National Night Out, a nationwide program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch that focuses on preventing crime, drug use, and violence. This year’s local event will begin with a community gathering at Wilson Park in Arkansas City on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. In addition to the kickoff party, ACPD encourages residents to host neighborhood block parties on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, as part of the ongoing commitment to building safer and more connected neighborhoods.
