Ark City PD announces results of Click It or Ticket effort

The Arkansas City Police Department has successfully concluded its participation in the national Click It or Ticket campaign, an initiative aimed at enforcing Kansas occupant restraint, texting, impaired driving, and other traffic laws. The campaign, which involved overtime saturation patrols, resulted in significant enforcement actions to promote road safety.
During the Click It or Ticket campaign, ACPD officers conducted 95 vehicle stops. As a result of these stops, officers issued:
• 7 safety belt citations
• 31 speeding citations
• 115 other citations and arrests
Chief Jim Holloway emphasized the department’s commitment to road safety.
“We are here to enforce all Kansas traffic laws and, ultimately, to decrease unsafe driving behavior. If you were stopped, we hope you learned from the experience. If so, we have made the roads safer for you and those you share the road with. We will continue to do that because, while the 2024 Click It or Ticket campaign may be over, traffic enforcement never is,” Holloway said.
The Arkansas City Police Department encourages all motorists to buckle up for their safety and the safety of their families and friends. Continuous enforcement of traffic laws aims to reduce accidents and save lives.
