SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO RECEIVE GRANTS

School districts and municipalities across the state are receiving waste tire product grants from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Bureau of Waste Management. A total of $529,600 will be awarded to 51 organizations funded by revenue collected through the tire excise tax, a 25-cent vehicle tire fee.

The Central district in Cowley County, and South Haven district in Sumner County will receive grants that will be used to to purchase shredded tire material for use on school playgrounds.
