During the New Year’s Taking Down DUI traffic enforcement campaign, The Arkansas City Police Department conducted overtime saturation patrols to target impaired drivers. From December 26, 2023, through January 2, 2024, ACPD officers conducted one DUI arrest, issued two child restraint citations, three speeding citations, and 34 other citations and arrests. The campaign resulted in officers conducting a total of 22 enforcement stops. The New Year’s Taking Down DUI traffic enforcement campaign was supported by a Kansas Department of Transportation grant.
