The City of Arkansas City says starting this Monday, the Street Department of Arkansas City will begin striping school zones across the city to ensure the safety of our young students as they head back to school! Crews will start at the intersection of 4th Street and Chesnut Avenue. Please take note of the following tips to stay clear of the striping truck and wet paint during this process:
• Exercise Caution: When approaching a school zone being striped, slow down and be extra cautious.
• Maintain Distance: Give the striping truck plenty of space. Avoid following too closely and refrain from passing the truck until it is safe.
• Observe Traffic Cones: Look out for traffic cones and barriers used to block off freshly painted areas. Respect these boundaries until the paint has dried.
• Patience is Key: Striping work takes time. Be patient and wait for the crew to finish before driving on newly painted surfaces.
