The City of Arkansas City is continuing its annual fire hydrant flushing program on today. The Environmental Services Department on Monday will begin flushing Section 7, which contains 51 fire hydrants in a rectangular area bounded by North First Street to the east, West Radio Lane to the north, West Kansas Avenue to the south, and North 15th Street to the west.
The Environmental Services Department will also begin flushing Section 8, which contains 39 fire hydrants along and north of East Kansas Avenue, north to Highland Drive, and east of A Street. Flushing will continue in Sections 7 and 8 through at least July 17. All flushing will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday only.
