The Winfield Police Department says another scam is making its way to our area. A Winfield resident received a call today claiming a relative had been injured in an accident. The caller was attempting to get the resident to go to a nearby convenience store and wire $10,000 to them to cover medical expenses. Thankfully, this was quickly recognized as a scam and nobody was out any money. If you receive a similar call, it’s best to hang up and refrain from providing the caller with any personal or financial information.
