Health department aware of new CDC guidance

From the City-Cowley County Health Department: On December 27, 2021 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidance to the nation. The guidance is designed to address the new wave of COVID-19 infections that is being caused by the latest Omicron variant. The new guidance shortens the 10-day isolation and quarantine period which has been in place since the Spring of 2021 to a new 5-day period followed by an additional 5-day period of mask wearing for effected individuals. The county says there has been no official guidance from the State Health Public Health Department as of this time. Since this guidance is subject to the approval of state and local public health officers the current protocols being used will remain in place.
