On November 15, 2021, at approximately 6:26 PM, Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies and units with the Arkansas City Fire and EMS responded to the 17000 block of Grouse Creek Road for a single vehicle fatality accident. Upon arrival the driver, 47-year-old rural Dexter resident, Tracey Johns was found deceased. Johns was driving a white 1992, Ford F-250, north bound on Grouse Creek Road when the vehicle’s tires went off the roadway. The vehicle struck a sign and then rolled, coming to rest on the vehicle’s top. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle landed on his lower body. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. The Cowley County Coroner has ordered an autopsy and no other information is known at this time.
