An update from the City-Cowley County Health Department on COVID-19. During the past week they have been closely watching new infections to see if there is a discernable increase in illness connected to the Labor Day weekend. A noticeable spike in new cases appears on September 7, 2021 but it is due to the delay in processing lab information over the weekend. Case rates are staying stable at this time. Local school districts are continuing to experience the effects of viral spread. All districts report larger than normal absence rates due to the need to quarantine students that are exposed in classrooms.
