Ark City Police Department: Kansas drivers are advised that during the period of August 20 through Labor Day, September 6, ACPD will join other law enforcement agencies across the state in a crackdown aimed at removing drunk and other impaired drivers from the roadways. Every impaired driving fatality accident that occurs is a direct result of someone choosing to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while they are impaired. While this campaign is geared toward reducing drunk driving, impaired driving also applies to those who are using illegal drugs, or prescription medications that could alter a driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely.
