The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office says early indications are that a two-year-old in southern Cowley County died because of the heat. Officials have not released details of where the child was found, although deputies were sent to a rural residence Monday evening for an unresponsive child. Authorities said there appears to be no foul play at this time.
