The city of Ark City is getting federal grant money to repair and improve a section of Summit Street. The Governor’s office announced the city is getting nearly $455,000 in Community Development Block Grant money, to fix Summit Street from Kansas Avenue to Radio Lane. A city spokesperson said the total cost of the project is $910,000, but the city aims to get state money for a fourth of the remaining cost, according to ctnewsonline.com. In all 32 rural communities in the state got federal funding totaling $14 million.
