The bitterly cold temperatures and winter storms led to rolling blackouts across Kansas and other states yesterday. Those are still possible today. The city of Winfield put this up on its Facebook last night: They are urging all of their customers to continue to take energy conservation measures for natural gas and electric usage for at least the next 48 hours during the extended outlook of this storm. It appears as if the last comparable stretch of days where the weather never reached twenty (20) degrees for at least eleven (11) days (what the current forecast calls for) was in the late 1970s.
