On September 27, 2022 The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 33000 block of US 77 Highway for a one vehicle roll over accident. The driver, Eric Michael Andes, 49 of Winfield, was driving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on US 77 Highway when it left the roadway and rolled several times coming to rest in the median. Andes was announced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. There were no passengers. An autopsy has been ordered by Coroner Dr. Willie Posey.
