The Winfield Police Department’s annual Community Night Out event will play host to a showing of the 1985 film “The Goonies” at the Island Park Performance Venue, as well as a hot dog dinner this Friday evening. Grilled hot dogs will be served at 6:00 p.m., with the movie starting shortly after sunset. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Family appropriate costumes are encouraged, but please leave alcoholic beverages at home as they are not allowed at Community Night Out. The evening will start off with a free grilled hot dog dinner with chips and a drink. Area emergency responders will be on hand to answer any questions from the public, as well as demonstrate the equipment they use to perform their duties.
