Cowley College’s Theatre Department is busy rehearsing for its fall play Six Characters in Search of an Author. The performance, which was adapted by Steve Moulds, will take place at 7:30 p.m. October 15-16, and 2 p.m. Sunday, October 17. The premise of the story is six fictional characters, abandoned by their creator, invade a rehearsal in progress and demand to be brought to life by a new author. But the characters’ existential agenda collides with the more lighthearted ambitions of these theatre artists, whose open rehearsal “audience engagement event” becomes darkly entangled with the characters’ tragic story.
