Southwestern College freshmen moved to campus on Wednesday, along with transfer students the college welcomes an incoming class of 253 new Moundbuilders. The group represents the fourth largest incoming class in college history. Additionally, the college’s fall enrollment of 615 full-time students, is the largest on record. SC freshmen have begun orientation on campus, but will travel as a group to Builder Camp in Quapaw, Oklahoma, to continue orientation and bonding. Freshman Work Day will be held on Sunday when the class will be split into groups and sent out into the community to complete service projects. Fall sports teams will begin pre-season practices on Monday. The rest of the student body will return by Aug. 16; classes begin on Monday, Aug. 19. The community is invited to share in the excitement of the 92nd Moundbuilding Ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Cole Mound Plaza located at the bottom of the 77 Steps.
